John Treanor of Tombstones in Their Eyes Goes Under The PROBE

John Treanor of Tombstones in Their EyesJohn Treanor understands the importance of collaboration when it comes to sparking and releasing creativity. Tombstones in Their Eyes was the brainchild of the rekindling of a childhood friendship stemming from the SoCal Punk scene. Using his talents and correspondence with his buddy James Cooper, Treanor completed his 2015 album Sleep Forever and 2016 EP Bad Clouds.

Drawing from musical influences such as The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Elliott Smith and The Melvins, seven years later, Tombstones in Their Eyes are back with the third installment of their gloomy alt-rock goodness, Looking For a Light, featuring the single “Quarantine Blues.”

John was kind enough to answer our questions for The PROBE with absolute grace, which you can read below.

You can listen to their 8-song album Looking For a Light while you do!

1) If a roach crashed into your rehearsal space, would you run or would you kill it?

Neither, I would escort it out using the cup and paper trick!

2) Does anyone in the band like to play practical jokes? If so, what’s one of the all-time best ones?

Fortunately, or unfortunately, no practical jokers in the band at the moment.  We’ll see if that changes on the road!

3) What’s the last gift you received?

Leaving out gifts to myself, it would be a nice travel toiletries bag from Pendleton that my wife Karin gave me recently, with a cool southwestern design.

4) If you could pick one thing about yourself that you’d like your fans to know, what would it be?

I am very shy and introverted, but enjoy being with a nice, small group of friends.

5) What music are you listening to lately?

Our own demos for the upcoming album, Jesus on Heroine, The Dandy Warhols, Dehd, Mark Lanegan, the list goes on!
